Happy birthday, Sunday! Today is your 3rd birthday. We adopted you when you were 1 year old, so you have been with us for 2 years now. My husband says he does not want to go on any trips because of the relationship we have built with Sunday.

Me: “Just a short trip?”
Hubby: “No, we need to stay home with Sunday.”
And this was the guy who was very reluctant to adopt a cat. Well, things change. And with Sunday, they keep changing for the better. We cherish her more each day.
Discovering Cat Training & Cooperative Care
When she first arrived, she was just a little cat. Not a tiny kitten, but not a full grown cat either. Not wanting to repeat some of the mistakes I had made with my other cats, I did a lot of research online. It’s been so long since I last lived with a cat. Cooperative care, positive reinforcement for cats, and cat training were not well known back then.
I was delighted to discover a whole new way of being with cats via YouTube. The channel I liked the most was CatSchool by Julie Posluns. After watching a few cat training videos and trying the techniques out with Sunday, I decided to enroll. It was one of the best decisions of my life.
Sunday turns out to be a smart and often willing student. Well, she is a cat after all.

Now that it’s her 3rd birthday, she has learned to do so many things. She loves perching on pumpkins, giving fist bumps, sitting, pushing buttons and jumping through arm hoops. Just to name a few things.
I was so proud of Sunday when she graduated from the 4th Grade of CatSchool a few weeks ago.
