Sunday is now a CatSchool 4th grade graduate! Clicker training a cat takes patience — and Sunday just proved it pays off. We are supurr proud of Sunday. She worked purrsistently on her 4th grade skills for over a year!
CatSchool fourth grade skills
- rollover
- leg weaves
- kitty pushups
- alternate paw low fives
- jump on a mat on my lap
- jump 3 different ways
- jump through my arm hoop
- spin in place
- paw wave
- backpack carry
The paw wave and backpack carry were the easier skills. In one of the monthly challenges we really focused on backpack skills. Then I began taking Sunday in her backpack to go in the car We also go on walks with me and our friend. That helped a lot with this skills. The paw wave was pretty easy for us because we already practice paw tricks several times a day.
Kitty pushups and rollover were the hardest for Sunday to learn. Pushups were hard because I needed to cue Sunday to lie down like a sphinx rather than lying on her side. Then with the rollover, I needed Sunday to actually lie on her side! It was so hard, but we made it!
