I Used to Chase My Cats Out From Under the Bed With a Broom
I am embarrassed to say it, but it’s true.
Every time I needed to get one of my previous cats into a carrier for a vet visit, the same thing happened. I’d bring out the carrier. They’d see it and disappear under the bed. I’d try to coax them out. They’d burrow deeper. And eventually, out came the broom.
I did this with more than one cat over the years. I simply did not know any better, and neither did anyone else in my circle of friends and family.
When I adopted Sunday — a former stray calico — I decided this time would be different. That’s when I discovered cat training, and everything changed. It turns out cats are smart, curious, and more than willing to learn on their own terms. No more broom. No more hiding. No more dreading vet day.
That discovery is what led me to start my YouTube channel, Pawsome Sunday — and to the wonderful community of everyday cat lovers I’ve found there.
